Microsclerotherapy is a painless, non-surgical procedure used
to treat unsightly but otherwise non-troublesome surface veins.
Microsclerotherapy is effective anywhere on the body, but particularly
on the face and legs. It is ideal for the removal of thread veins, red veins
and spider veins. Microsclerotherapy achieves superb and lasting results.
After consultation, treatment may commence immediately. A small
amount of sclerosant is injected into the treated veins using an
extremely fine needle. The solution displaces blood, ultimately closing
down the veins which are then reabsorbed by the body. This not only
removes the unsightly veins, but improves circulation to the treated
areas. Treatment is painless and takes 30–45 minutes, depending upon
the individual and the area to be treated. Normal activity can be resumed
straight away after treatment. The use of support hose is usually
recommended for a few days. Treated veins cannot reappear. However
new thread veins may later appear elsewhere.
2–3 treatments are sometimes required. To perfect the result, very small
veins, or matting, can be eradicated using the NLite laser in combination
with microsclerotherapy.
