Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

This fantastic addition to our equipment range provides hair, vein and pigmentation removal, photo rejuvenation and treatment of acne.

Hair Removal

IPL hair removal treatments are fast, allowing large areas to be treated. There is no need to grow hair for the treatment. A mild sensation is experienced during the process and with each treatment the number of hairs is reduced, leading to long-term reduction within a course of 6 to 12 treatments. Our other ‘nd-Yag’ laser can be used for hair removal on dark skin.

Vein Removal/Rosacea

IPL treatment can destroy unsightly blood vessels by sending short pulses of light into the skin. The vessels shrink in the weeks following each treatment. All areas of the body can be treated. Particular success is seen with facial problems such as red flushing, broken thread veins, red spots and rosacea. Procedures are quick, leading to removal within a course of 3 to 6 treatments.

Pigmentation Removal

IPL removes pigmentation by stimulating renewal of the upper layers of skin. Pulses of light are absorbed by any excess melanin destroying the pigmented skin cells. Areas are renewed 10 to 14 days after treatment. The process also stimulates the growth of new collagen and elastin fibres, improving firmness and overall texture. IPL is fast and, with each treatment, pigmentation fades with removal in 2 to 4 treatments.

Acne

After a light skin peel, a combination of light pulses destroy bacterial infection and reduce inflammation of the sebaceous glands. This treatment can result in long-term remission from acne. Most clients achieve a significant reduction in the severity and frequency of outbreaks following a course of 6 treatments.

Photo Rejuvenation

Signs of sun damage such as patches of abnormal colour, rough skin texture, broken capillaries and fine lines can be treated with IPL. After a light skin peel, pulses of light are applied over the face to stimulate the growth of new collagen and elastin fibres, improving firmness and overall texture. Procedures are quick and offer long-term removal of the signs of aging. A maximum benefit is achieved with a course of 4 to 6 treatments.
